Family therapy

Whatever the problem, there maybe times where the whole family need support. There is evidence to suggest that family or systemic approaches can work for many issues that a family or indvididual face.

Here are just some of the issues family therapy can help with:

  • Anorexia
  • Substance Missuse
  • Relationship Issues
  • Anger Issues
  • Physical Health Issues
  • Mental Health Issues
  • Bereavement

Problems don’t just affect one family member. Often they affect everyone. Coming together as a family to work out how do tackle problems can be very effective. Family members may see one family member as having a problem, but the rest of the family can be part of the solution.

Family therapy can be helpful for many dificulties particularly where the problems have led to a breakdown of relationships within the family.

If you are avoiding each other, find it hard to spend time together or recognise that the same arguments get repeated regularly, then it might be time to seek help.

As a family therapist, I work hard to remain neutral and make sure all family members have a voice. Together I can help you to look at how your family may be able to do things differently.

If you are fed up of going round in circles or have run out of ideas, then why not book a reduced cost introductory sessionwith me? There is no obligation to continue.

Testimonial

We came to Mel in a very dark place. We have spent time together as a family with Mel and learnt to appreciate each other. They have been relaxed, informal sessions with Mel and Max. We are in a much different place now than when we first started. Arguments have decreased and we like spending time together now. Before we just avoided each other before. It took time but was worth the investment.
